this one is a little instrumental piece. it is called Messiaen because i believe i began writing it in one of Olivier Messiaens modes of limited transposition. for the musically inclined and technically curious, here is a wiki explanation: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modes_of_limited_transposition

now whether it stayed in one of those modes...i doubt it. that is often how i work. i am inspired by something i learn, by curiosity about and exploration of, a new idea; but then once begun, i try not to stay unnecessarily limited to that original idea, just for academic reasons, anyway.
